The Four T’s

God wants us to do a good job with what we have been given. A speaker on the radio mentioned that we should be faithful in four areas of our life. These can be remembered by thinking of the “Four T’s”.

They are:

=> Time

=> Talents (abilities, skills)

=> Treasure (money, things)

=> Temple of the Holy Spirit (Our body. See 1 Cor 3:16-17)

I was thinking through how understanding these “Four T’s” should impact my life. How can I be faithful in these four areas? I came up with two steps.

Step #1: Ask four questions

=> God, what is the best use of my time right now?

=> God, what is the best use of the talents & abilities you have given me?

=> God, what is the best way to use the treasure you have entrusted to me?

=> God, what is the best way to care for your temple?

Step #2: Do what we know to be right.

Many times we know what is the best thing, we just don’t want to do it. We pay the price now through self denial and experience the benefits later.

Doing a good job in managing our time, temple, talents, and treasure will usually lead to benefits in this life. However, they will not compare to the joy of hearing Christ say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
