If someone asked you, “How do you know the Bible is the Word of God?”, how would you answer. Here are two answers not to give.

2 Arguments to be very cautious about using:

 Argument #1: It’s true because I believe it.

 Argument #2: You just have to have faith

The 4-3 Defense 

Learn the 4-3 defense and have good evidence for believing the Bible is the word of God. 

4 Proofs for Inspiration

The Whole Bible is inspired in the sense that Spirit-moved men wrote God Breathed words which are inherent (true & without error) and divinely authoritative for Christian Faith and Practice (adapted from Guisler).
 

Proof #1: The Bible claims to be the Word of God ( 2 Tim 3:16; 1 Tim 5:18; 1 Thes 2:13; 2 Peter 3:16).

Of the millions of books written only a few claim to be from God. The Bible is one of them. If it is from God there is going to be evidence that it is a supernatural book. Take the challenge and read through John or another book and let the Holy Spirit confirm it is the word of God.

Proof #2: The Unity and Harmony of the Bible
Written by 40 authors over a period of 1500 years. Yet, it reads like one great story and the teaching of the authors harmonizes with eachother. This sets the Bible apart from all others and shows it is the God of God. See more here:
 

Proof #3: Fulfilled Prophecies.

The Bible contains numerous prophecies which have been fulfilled. See more here and here.

Proof #4: It Answers the Big Questions (Adequately explains reality)

The Bible answers the big questions like:

Where did we come from?

Why are we here?

Where are we going?

3 Tests an Inspired Book Must Pass

Test #1: Has it been accurately preserved?

Test #3: Has it impacted history and positively changed lives?

 If a book is from God, it must have an impact. The Bible has had a tremendous positive influence on history. It changes lives. As person gets into God’s word, it will positively change their life.
